Row for Charity
The 10th Annual Row for Charity was recently staged in the Carlisle Bay on Father’s Day despite persistent rain. Scores of rowers who wanted to have fun and vie for prizes while contributing to a worthwhile cause gathered to participate in the two race event.
According to Chief Barker (President) of Variety, the Children’s Charity, Amanda McKay, 95% of the participants were repeat competitors. 37 teams were registered with 16 entered for the Wind Warriors Wonder Race which was for the ‘slower’ rowers and 16 entered for the Motor Maniacs Madness Race. There were only 5 teams who did not show up due to inclement weather.
